Planted in 1953 out of necessity, when Pinotage planting material was scarce, this Cinsault vineyard has evolved into a symbol of resilience and heritage.

Originally part of a larger Pinotage vineyard, these vines now stand alone, bearing witness to over six decades of winemaking tradition.

Aging potential: While it delights the palate now, the Lone Wolf Cinsault 2022 will gracefully evolve with cellaring for another 6 – 8 years.

In The Cellar

Located in the magical Bottelary Hills, this vineyard stands firm and tall as one of the oldest vineyards in Stellenbosch.

Planted in rich soils with weathered granite and shale, fully exposed to the African sun, allowing this admirably adapted variety to flourish.

Tasting

It is a charming and eloquent expression of the variety. Nose shows cranberry and red cherry notes, with a floral element that is underpinned by fragrant spices.

It is light of touch on the palate but remains concentrated with bright acidity and powdery tannins, giving length to the dry finish. ageing potential Drinks exceptionally well now.
