The Eden vineyard is the heart of Raats Family Wines.  Our finest expression of Chenin Blanc, Eden High Density Single Vineyard Chenin Blanc, has globally achieved cult wine status.

 The Eden High Density Single Vineyard project originated from our deep passion for mastering Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc.  In 2004 Bruwer fell in love with a small piece of land in Polkadraai Hills Stellenbosch called Eden, realising the potential of this tiny pocket of neglected decomposed dolomitic granite close to  False Bay and the Vlaeberg Mountain.  For four years we worked tirelessly using site-specific techniques to restore the soil quality through conservation agriculture, integrated nutrient management and continued vegetative cover to create optimal conditions condusive to creating ultra-premium wines.  With 8000 vines per hectare on a 0,6 hectare block, these vines are left to flourish with minimum intervention and a stringent selection process to create the now revered Eden wines.

The Eden vineyard was created with extreme precision viticulture as a key focus, and the results are clear.  The Quality comes right down to Design.

Eden High Density Single Vineyard Chenin Blanc is sold on allocation, as so little is produced.  As a Private Club exclusive we have released 12 cases of this first ever Eden Chenin Blanc mini vertical collection on a first come basis from our vintage library for you to add to your cellar.
