Indulge in the captivating tale of the Lone Wolf Cinsault 2022, a wine that echoes the whispers of history from an old vineyard nestled in the heart of Stellenbosch.

Planted in 1953 out of necessity, when Pinotage planting material was scarce, this Cinsault vineyard has evolved into a symbol of resilience and heritage.

Originally part of a larger Pinotage vineyard, these vines now stand alone, bearing witness to over six decades of winemaking tradition.

Wine Information

Aging potential: While it delights the palate now, the Lone Wolf Cinsault 2022 will gracefully evolve with cellaring for another 6 – 8 years.

Blend information: Experience the pure essence of Cinsault with this single-varietal wine, crafted from 100% Cinsault grapes.

Food suggestions: Pair the Lone Wolf Cinsault 2022 with culinary delights such as roast pork with herbs and fennel, a rack of venison served medium, or locally caught yellowtail grilled to perfection.

In The Cellar

Located in the magical Bottelary Hills, this vineyard stands firm and tall as one of the oldest vineyards in Stellenbosch.

Planted in rich soils with weathered granite and shale, fully exposed to the African sun, allowing this admirably adapted variety to flourish.

Raats Family Wines was one of the driving forces behind the establishment of Polkadraai Hills as an official ward within Stellenbosch in 2007.  With its unique decomposed dolomite granite soils, proximity to the ocean and south facing slopes it allows for great depth of quality terroir, making itself known as producing some of the most exciting wines in the country.

Founded in 2000 by visionary winemaker Bruwer Raats, in partnership with his cousin Gavin Bruwer Slabbert, Raats Family Wines specialize in Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc and has been crafting soil-driven wines of exceptional quality ever since.
